Our History
Target Training (TT) was established in July 1999 by Louise Targett.
After 10 years experience working for shopping centre landlords and tracking
the KPIs of retailers both large and small, it was a natural progression
in Louise’s career. TT was offered retailers and shopping centres
a consulting service to identify gaps in performance and make recommendations
for business growth.
TT soon formed an alliance with the Australian Retailers Association
and Louise Targett was made responsible for delivering the highly acclaimed
“Retailing with the GST” package to retail groups across Australia,
prior to the new tax system coming into effect on 1 July 2000. During
this time, Louise also developed a series of training manuals and learning
guides, focusing on key business issues, which were sold to retail groups
as workshop series and seminars.
After a lengthy process and audit by VETAB (Vocational Education Training
and Accreditation Board), TT was successful in being recognised as a Registered
Training Organisations (RTO) in September 2001.
Approval for funding of traineeships and apprenticeships by the Department
of Education and Training followed in 2004, and a partnership forged
with the National Retail Association QLD allowing services to be provided
to both companies’ clients in NSW and QLD.
TT soon expanded its premises and grew through word of mouth and good
will, securing contracts with some of the top 150 companies including
Caltex Australia, Mirvac, Sigma Corporation and AMP Shopping Centres.
In 2005, with five years of solid business growth and an established
reputation in the marketplace, TT has begun the process of expansion through
franchising so it may soon offer its services on a national, and potentially
international, level. |
